Home Care for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
CareConnect provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and in the community. Care is personalized to our individuals to allow them to live a more independent life.
Enrolling in a home and community-based services waiver is one way to access person-centered services.
We Are Ohio DODD Certified Providers
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) works with a vast network of agency providers and independent providers all over the state to offer support and care for individuals with developmental disabilities. This network of more than 10,000 providers throughout Ohio operates under the supervision and guidance of the DODD, which maintains rigorous performance and compliance standards to ensure the health and safety of Ohio residents living with developmental disabilities.
The DODD enforces strict health and welfare standards as well as certification criteria and compliance standards. The DODD also manages provider certification and renewal and offers a wide range of provider training programs.
CareConnect is proud to be a part of the Ohio DODD provider network. Anyone interested in our home care services can expect the same level of attention and care from us as they would from any other Ohio DODD certified provider.
Nearly 40,000 Ohioans with developmental disabilities are enrolled in a waiver, with access to services while living on their own, with family, with a roommate, or with a paid caregiver. Waivers are one way to pay for the services that support people with developmental disabilities. Arista is certified for the following: the Individual Option Waiver, the Level One Waiver, Self- Waiver, and HPC Transportation.
Homemaker/Personal Care, often called HPC, supports a person to be more independent while meeting their daily living needs.
Direct service providers help people with household chores and personal care, including things like:
- getting dressed and keeping clean
- making food
- managing money to pay household bills
- cleaning and doing laundry
- getting out and being a part of the community
- and helping people get to medical and dental appointments or other health care services.
HPC also includes support that improves a person’s ability to express their opinions and choices.
The Level One Waiver
Often called L1 for short. It is a good fit for people who do not need a lot of paid staff to provide services.
The L1 Waiver relies heavily on natural supports. Natural supports are services people provide without being paid for it. Natural supports could be things like:
- support from a family member who helps you get dressed and ready for work every morning
- a ride to work from a co-worker
- a family member who provides a break or respite for caregivers.
The Individual Option
The IO Waiver is a more comprehensive waiver. It can be a good fit for people who may need a lot of help in their home. It can also be a good fit for people who need a lot of different kinds of services.
- General In-Home Care
- Household tasks
- Personal Care/ Grooming & Personal Hygiene

- Grocery & Personal Shopping
- Cleaning/Light Housekeeping
